Alicia has been my friend since I was in 8th grade (then discovered we were distant cousins on the Burkett side). She is known to the kids as "Aunt Alicia". We, like everyone - have had our ups and downs, but despite the distance between us, she is always there when I need a hug, or need to talk.
I remember Alicia's wedding day...lol. I had been skydiving (which I did most weekends at that point in my life) - and as I landed, the wind suddenly changed directions, caught my parachute and made me land alot faster and harder than intended and landed on my butt, and hurt my tailbone horribly. Then I had to drive 2 hours to the wedding and sit in a hard pew...lol. Alicia was mad at me because I "could have been killed" on her wedding day - and she "never would have forgiven" me...lol. I remember standing in a very long receiving line - with my boyfriend at the time, and our mutual friend Jason - in a huge amount of pain. |
